The SPACE framework
You're probably doing some version of these five things, but are you doing them well enough to save as much time and energy as you could?
Systems
You've got ways of doing things, but too much still lives in your head. You're rebuilding the same processes repeatedly instead of externalising them once so they run without you.
Preparation
You prepare in bursts when things get urgent, but not in the tiny, consistent ways that help your future self avoid panic. A bit of structured preparation upfront saves you from the expensive, exhausting scramble later.
Awareness
You have some sense of what's happening, but you're often guessing instead of using data. Better visibility into your time, capacity, and workload means better decisions and fewer surprises.
Curation
You curate sometimes, but you say yes by default. Saying no takes deliberate effort, and it's easy to forget that you're the only person with 100% of your own context. Not everything deserves equal attention.
Evolution
You reflect occasionally, maybe once a year if you're organised. But regular course correction (weekly, not yearly) keeps systems working as your life and work change. It's not useless admin, it's how pilots avoid flying thousands of kilometres off course.

Most people aren't disorganised. They've got systems. It's just that those systems aren't doing enough of the heavy lifting.
Where this came from
We're Jess Allison and Aimee Cowie. We started as lead digital producers at the same agency - Jess ran the Melbourne office, Aimee led operations in Canberra.
We were solving the same problems in parallel: keeping complex projects profitable, visible, and on track while managing teams, clients, and competing priorities.
Over the next 20 years, our paths diverged. Jess moved through operations leadership, service design, and coaching teams through growth. Aimee built expertise in delivery and program management in enterprise SaaS, digital transformation and scaling teams.
When we reunited to build Producing Paradise, we realised we'd been seeing the same patterns everywhere. The same five things kept breaking systems across agencies, SaaS companies, in-house teams, and solo operators.

I'm an operations and delivery specialist with 20+ years leading teams, managing complex portfolios, and coaching people through growth.
Currently Head of Operations at Right Angle (strategic design and placemaking), I previously ran my own business for 5 years and spent 5 years in agency leadership as People and Operations Director.
I specialise in systems that create space for being present, not performing productivity. I work four days a week and live in Melbourne with my partner and toddler daughter.
